That’s weird, both pictures had the correct orientation for me on Chrome.
I’m using Chrome on a Mac Book Pro and here’s how Alvie’s post appears:

Never saw that Andy, but nothing much surprises me anymore in this cyber stuff.

Just be glad it didn’t appear like this!

A fully loaded 24 to 28 enclosed single car hauler gets to 9k or 10k (and more) pretty fast. A fully loaded stacker will get to 15k quickly and often right to 20k. What does Airstream dually gross out at?

Dick,
Winnebago is showing the weight (GVRW) of the Sprinter is slightly over 11,000 lbs.

Instead of a Sprinter RV, we have considered just a plain short wheelbase Sprinter, medium height, passenger configuration. A driveshaft disconnect is required.
Removing the two back rows of seats leaves the front two seats and the second row seats, along with a huge storage space. It is kind of like having a trailer for “stuff” but still having a toad that is about the same length as a crew cab, short bed 4×4 pickup truck. It would actually be a few inches shorter than our crew cab Ram pickup.
Of course, the passenger Sprinter would not have the RV components (kitchen/bath/bed) if that is what you need in a toad.

An Airstream Interstate setup as a motorohome has a GVWR of 11,000 lbs.
What would that be like to tow? I’m guessing you would feel it a bit more than a Jeep Wrangler as it’s twice the weight.

Saw another forum the Mercedes diesels are not approved for anything over bio diesel 5. That would be a hard find just looking for bio 5. Word has it will effect the warranty.

I have exactly the same motor in the Jeep that the Sprinters have. It’s a 60 degree V-6 3 liter 4 valve 4 cam turbo diesel. Speced it and bought it new in 5/08 (64,000 miles now, plus 60,000 flat towed). Since we live in Illinois and:
1) It is a large soybean producing state
2) It is home to the largest soybean processor
3) We have a state tax incentive to blend 6% to 20% biomass with petroleum diesel,
we are at greater risk of getting these higher blends. The three risks are, clogged fuel filter, injector deposits, and unburned fuel dripping past the rings into the oil pan. So far we haven’t had any symptoms even though I monitor them. Our VW hasn’t had any either.
Mercedes for a short time in 2011 stopped selling these motors in Illinois, but soon resumed after developing some language to communicate the risk. That language did not include warranty coverage.
