  • ValleyRiver RV Park in Murphy, NC Who Knew?

Posted by Harry on October 4, 2017 at 10:40 am

    Hi guys,

Not far from me a new Harrah’s Casino was built a couple years ago. I had noticed that something was being built across the highway from the casino and decided to investigate. Low and behold its an RV Park. I went in and spoke to one of the managers and found the park clubhouse is very nice and the lady I spoke with as nice as can be.

I’ve not had my coach to an RV park as yet and didn’t know the questions to ask so all I can say is my reaction was very favorable. I did ask if they were owned by Harrah’s and they are privately owned.

    I also found out they give a 10% Good Sam’s discount and a 15% military/veterans discount!

As a benefit to Prevost owner who have their bus paid for in full. If you’re concerned about loosing too much money at the casino and them attaching your property. I’d offer you the opportunity to put your coach in my name… Yes, I know what you’re thinking “Harry, what a magnanimous gesture”!

    Harry:

Does the Campground/Resort have 50amp hookups? What about water and sewer?

Have you posted this facility to the PC map?

How far is this facility from your home?

    Hi Dick,

Yes they have water, sewer, 50 amp, cable, WiFi etc.

I’ve not posted it to PC map and don’t know who they are?

The park is maybe 6 miles from my home.

BTW anyone who comes here let me know and I’d love to meet you and take you to good Murphy, NC dinner. You won’t even have to put your bus in my name, but I’ll have the paperwork just in case! wink

Harry, you have one coach in your name now and you have made it clear you are now on the horns of a dilemma regarding how to get through the winter. And you would like more in your name?

Harry: I should have used the correct name … the “PC Users Map”. Its an option on the right-hand side of the this forum … just scroll down.

Hey Jon, Please don’t mess up my plans by using logic on me, you know I hate that! But you can be assured I’m dead serious in doing whatever I can to get this figured out. There has to be something between south Florida and what I have available here?

While I’m talking with Jeff on Friday I’ll ask him to show me where to blow out the lines, drain the P-traps, ginger snaps and Venus Fly Traps. He already has me flipping buggers at Burger King, so sweeping the floors at Denny’s should pay for the info needed?

Thanks Dick and I’ll check out the map.

    Harry:

    For the winter consider either:

    1. Park your bus at the RV park six miles from your home and plug it in. They likely have a monthly winter or storage rate.

    2. Have Jeff winterize it for you, drive it home, then drive it for an hour every two weeks in the winter.

Harry, if you’re plugged in for power and keep the interior warm and toasty, can you put an electric blanket in the engine compartment to keep the motor from freezing? Yes, you’ll have to remember to remove it before starting the engine, but would that provide some sort of solution or is this a real rookie question?

If this is not a dumb question, how about one for the plumbing bay too?

Oh Andy … Oh Andy … are you going to the Prevost maintenance seminar at ETLC this weekend?

Thanks Dick, but sadly I’m stuck in Rainy Florida the next few weeks.

I’m guessing that was a dumb question! But to my credit, with the bus in Florida for the Winter, winterizing is not in my vocabulary.

Andy don’t let Dick beat up on you, wink I see no reason that an 8V92 wouldn’t appreciate the cover… Even a diesel likes to snuggle.

Where you’re luck Andy is I didn’t do a video with a drone fly over of the new RV park. Many have called me the Walt Disney of videos! Or was that I’m Goofy? I get that confused sometimes!

Your videos are safe for now Andy but you better stay on top your game.
