Useless Trivia
I am spending 2 weeks in Las Vegas over Christmas and New Years with my 95 year old Mother. One last Fling in Sin City for my Mom. She has been wintering here for 26 years.
Took her down to the Las Vegas Experience on Fremont street one night and was shocked to see the deteriation of the humanity that comes out at night, and the light display was awful. Guess you have to be under 50 to appreciate the light show.
Heading back to Henderson I decided to drive down Las Vegas Blvd. and see what might have changed. Besides a sea of humanity and the buildings close to the street I was stunned to see police cars every block on each side of the street with their lights flashing red and blue. At first thought there might be an accident but then it hit me they are staging their squads and people up and down the Strip to allow them to respond quickly to anything needing their attention.
I suspect after the Mandalay Bay mass shooting last year they found the traffic on Las Vegas Blvd. was so congested they could not get forces to needed areas and were bog down in traffic. It also will give people who need a police office to find on quickly just run to the flashing lights.
Good to see in Las Vegas just before 400,000 hit the strip for New Years Eve.
