Updates on coaches for sale
I notice several coaches on the sale site that have been sold for several weeks yet appear to still be for sale. This seems to take up web space and it is frustrating for the shopper.
I contacted one seller and he indicated that ________ Did not update their web site but I wonder whose responsibility that is since the site would have no idea of a sale without notice from the seller. Is this a housekeeping chore that isn’t getting done or does it help the seller by appearing to have more interesting units for sale ?

I spend hours trying to keep up with the coaches that are sold so I can delete them and it’s impossible. Periodically I send a list of coaches to the advertisers asking them to update their coach listing.
Only the Advertiser knows that their coach is no longer for sale and most do not mark them sold on PC as they’re suppose to.
I don’t have a solution for this problem, suggest you ask the seller to please delete the sold coach on the PC site. It’s not just our site, others have the same issue.

Well nothing is impossible.
One way to handle this is before anything is posted is have to the poster sign that he/she/company delete the post or post sold when a bus is sold. If it is not they loose privilege to post again.
Another way is to contact poster. You say you do that now?
A third way is to have a place for members who find sold buses to tell the mod.
One more way and probably the most effective is to compile an email a list of each for sale poster. Group them all together in one folder. Every two weeks or so you can send to the group that if the bus has sold please remove. The email letter can be brief, it can be stored in a file, and it can be done in less than a minute. Certainly not hours and hours. It really is that simple.

Or, have the listings automatically expire after 30, 60 or 90 days unless the seller states it’s still available.

A lot of the coaches listed for sale are from advertisers. As a practical matter it does not do us any good to irritate them because they are supporting this site.
Tom has worked very hard to try to encourage them to remove outdated listings. The ads do expire. But we are not going to risk losing advertisers because we pester them constantly to remove sold coaches.
This is not exclusively a PC problem and we see exactly the same issue on virtually every other site that lists Prevost coaches for sale. By leaving a listing up on web sites the sellers get phone calls and that is what they want. They can tell a potential buyer that they just sold the coach but they have another the buyer may be interested in.

95% of the Coach for Sale Ad’s are our Advertisers who make this site possible. We won’t be ruffling those feathers anytime soon.
If a Coach has already been sold and still on the site, help us out by politely e-mailing the Seller and ask them to remove the Coach.
You’re correct, it’s not impossible if you help.

When I was shopping I figured out the easy way to know if it was still for sale was to go to the resellers site. They seem to keep their own sites more current.

I agree, we have been looking for something for about 9 month now. I know that the web posting are some what behind. I call Dealerships all over the country and inquiry about Coaches for sale. 90% of the time the coach I’m interested in is sold, so I do waste a lot of time looking.

I think overall, it’s a loosing battle. For example. Google “Prevost Beaver XL for sale” and a number of busses are still listed. I know they all have sold. One dealer still shows Bus 4 in Tucson for sale. It still lives in AZ, but…..Bus 13 was listed in Oregon, ended up in WA, owners used to be on this forum. And on and on. The web is cluttered. Best thing to do is notify truk or Jon. I did that recently about Marathon 1067.

Build relationships with sales people and people in the industry. Let them know what you are looking for and your price range. People like Jeff Rowe, Chad Dupuis of Platium Coach and RV. There are other brokers in Florida, Arizona, Dallas and the Northwest. People on this forum can give you reputable names. The just call and build a relationship. These people know of coaches that will be coming on the market and when there is a match to you, you may get the first call. Let people know what you are looking for on Prevost Facebook pages. You can post on Prevost Owners Group and others without being a member. Buy the time coaches make the Internet many are under contract.

I beg to differ on one comment… and that was “everything is possible today”…. not quite true in my personal opinion…I think it is “Impossible to make everyone Happy” !!
