  • Update: Tunica Recommendations

Posted by Archived on September 11, 2018 at 9:56 am

We are cancelling our Galveston trip due to the weather and heading inland. Tunica looks like a good destination for tomorrow (Wednesday 9/12).

Can anyone recommend a good place with full hookups?

Samstown or Hollywood Casinos advertise RV campgrounds…. Any good?

    Thanks,

Hollywood our choice as well. Make sure you call & get directions how best to get into the campground. You do not want to take the bus into the main entrance…

    Thanks.

The 80 foot pull-throughs at Sam’s Town look tempting.

As far as the RV parking goes, Sam’s Town is definitely the best with many long pull-throughs. Everything is new/fresh and well maintained. Easy in, out, and around the campground. All concrete pads and asphalt roads.

Sam’s Town Casino…. well, you have to go in to register at the desk after parking in your assigned space, but we saw no reason to go in to the casino again

Across the street is The Resort. No RV parking that we could see. Much nicer casino and the lunch buffet is very good and only $5 for folks over 50. Well worth the effort to eat lunch there.

Next to that is the Hollywood Casino. Head and shoulders the best casino. The RV campground is good, but only one pull through (#196). The walk from the campground to the casino is the shortest.

Bottom line: If you need a pull through, Sam’s Town is a sure bet. If a back-in spot is OK, especially for a longer stay, pick the Hollywood Casino.

After living in Las Vegas for 9 years a while back, we can’t get excited about any of the three casinos.

Did not walk back that far… Good to know.

    I’ll try those next time.
