  • Unused Antennae

Posted by Rod on February 19, 2014 at 11:45 am

We have two antennas on our coach, located on the sides just in front of the bedroom windows. They are showing age and one is cracked from the weather. I am concerned they will begin to leak water to the inside.

Anyone have a suggestion as to how to go about removing the devices and plugging the resulting holes?

    Thanks!

Silicone on small screw holes and plates screwed down with silicone on the big ones, I’d think. One of the smart guys will show up any minute with the right fix.

Those are the antenna bases for the CB. If you live a clean life and you have been good you might find the access plates inside the coach that when removed will let you get at the mounting nuts. Then at your option remove the antenna bases or loosen them and put some sealer behind them and retighten them.

Your floor plan is different than mine was so I can’t offer advice as to where the access might be.

You could also put new ones on and use them if you want CB communication. Firestick makes that mount.
