Universal Remote
I have the universal remote brand remotes for the front and rear of the coach. They are ok units and use rf with a rf to ir control unit to talk to all the audio/video equipment via ir. It works ok. The issue is the dvd/vhs died and had to be replaced with a new unit. I called the remote mfg to ask for the editor for the remotes and they refused. They said the installers have the option to give me a copy but they arent’ going to because the want to charge me to edit the controllers for the new av unit. The issue also is that they won’t let me bring the coach to them and they won’t give me a quote for comminig to me and editing the controllers. They will only say that they want $150 per hour to re-program them. I won’t write a blank check and frankly I’m not happy with the mfg take on this. I’m considering just replacing the remotes with the logitech harmony ultimate for the bedroom and using my cell phone as the remote for the front. Has anyone used these in their coach and if so what are your oppinion of them? Logitech will give me the editor for free and I should be able to learn the macros from the old units and not have to start from scratch.
