  • Turbo Sensor

Posted by Chuck on July 12, 2016 at 4:24 pm

Had a code indicating Boost and it was the Turbo Sensor; replaced it and it now is working intermittingly. Left Jeff’s yesterday and it did kick in about time I got to Knoxville. Never cut coach off and it stopped working about 200 miles down road; limped on home.

    Any suggestions?

The turbo boost sensor is one that can cripple the coach. In some cases if it is not reading right you cannot hardly get more than idle speed our of the engine.

It could be a bad sensor or just the little rubber hose between the sensor and engine that is leaking or cracked.

Jon, are those items that we need to carry as spares?

I don’t think so. In 26 years I had one turbo boost sensor go bad, and at that time saw the little rubber hose section had aged so I replaced it. I don’t carry one now because the risk I feel is minimal. Most issues that were reported relating to the turbo boost sensor over the years have mostly been wiring issues like a bad connection or ground.

Got it, I’ll inspect the hose and wiring.

Chuck: Did you do it all yourself? Isn’t it satisfying when you can solve a problem by yourself with a little advice and counsel from your friends!

I did do it myself and patted myself on the back. It is amazing considering my wife will not even let me hang a picture!
