TURBO ON 14L USAGE
On the new to me 14L it seems that boost is more active than on my previous 12.7 1998 bus.
I notice that just slight acceleration brings on 1/4 to 1/2 scale boost. I don ‘t know if the gauge is accurate, I am going to try and get gauge verified.
Observations on the Detroit 14L welcomed.

No red flags in what you describe.

Variable exhaust scroll on turbo makes it much quicker to boost .

What year is your coach and is it a EGR engine?
That is important to know.

I am not sure on EGR still learning this coach

If it is an EGR you will have a heat exchanger on the left side of the engine looking forward, with tubing coming from that around the top of the rear of the engine into the intake manifold.
The boost gauge will not show true boost because when the EGR kicks in under power the boost goes up to 50 PSI, but will only show about 30. I do not know how accurate the boost gauge is when it is reading turbo pressure without the EGR engaged.

That’s gonna be a DDEC V. EGR Motor without the piss (DEF) tank.
Look on your crossover pipe above the motor there should be a plate saying what the motor is.
