TST tire monitor

They have a repeater in the description. Experience with it please relate.

We use the TST in our 96 Liberty 40XL without a repeater. We have had no problems monitoring the tires on the Jeep we tow. We have had the system for over 6 years and are happy with it.

How did you install inner tire monitors the instructions say you have to use the special tool to install.
My Pressure Pro sensors I use three 3/4 inch coupling on the end os a piece of 3/4 inch pipe to install and remove as the sensors fit snuggly into the 3/4 coupling.

I’ve used both EEZ & TST cap style sensors on Bus, Toad & Stacker. Overall they work good. TST’s monitor allows for multiple trailers i.e. toad, stacker, boat, etc.
If the repeater is not used the signal tends to drop for a couple sensors near the rear but ONLY when engine is running. I have the repeater connected directly to my chassis batteries as they are just behind the tag axle. I’ve heard some people tap into a rear closet light and mount inside – it really don’t matter as long as the senor is near the back.
As for install – just screw them on like the regular valve stem cover.
Replace the button battery in each sensor every 12 to 18 months. Some say replacing the O ring every couple years is a good idea.
Use a paint pen or nail polish to label each sensor – inevitably if you don’t when tires are replaced you end up putting them in wrong location leading to confusion.

I use an Acoa valve stem stabilizer extension kit. The holes in our wheels are 1.5 inches, the kit for 22.5 inch wheels is for 2 inch holes, but the kit for 19.5 inch wheels fits 1.5 inch holes.

I have had the TST TPMS system since approximately 2010. I initially installed on my motorhome, I transferred the system to my bus in 2015.
I installed a repeater in the bus because I had used it with my motorhome. I needed the repeater in my motorhome to maintain signal from the drive wheels and tags. I assumed I would have the same issue with the bus. The repeater is located in the bay with the chassis batteries and wired directly to them.
TST changed the design of its sensors since I bought my system, and I recently discovered that they changed the design of the sensors again. The original sensors were lightweight and could be installed on rubber valve stems. I still use this style of sensors on my tow vehicle, but I am not sure they are still available. They are easy to install (except on inner drives) using the provided tool, which is designed to defeat the “security” feature intended to deter theft of the sensors.
The new sensors are larger, heavier, and must be installed on metal valve stems. In addition, the new sensors did not interface well with my original monitor, so I purchased a replacement monitor. To install on the inner drives, I made a tool out of 3/4″ PVC pipe and a PVC coupler. It worked well until TST changed the design of the sensors again. My tool would not fit the new design. As I replace sensors, I install the new style sensors on the inner drives by threading by hand, which is possible to do between the tires if the drives are in the correct position (approximately the 5 o’clock position). Eventually, I will make a tool to install them when I eventually replace all sensors with the new style.
The TST system has proven to be reliable and incredibly accurate. I have not used other systems that are on the market.
