Trip of a life time
I hope this thread starts a very lengthy debate. I am planning on retiring this year and plan on traveling for 2-3 years. I think i have the Bus ready mechanically but whos to say. I am doing a interior update next month, then paint in march. is there any advice you folks would share?. things to do to the coach? I have already replaced tires,,brakes,wheel bearings, invertors .. everything is working as should. replaced most of the norgren valves , air bags…shocks..ETC

My advice is don’t plan it out too much if you are a planner…. have a basic ideal of what you want to do and where you want to go… but try avoid getting locked into a firm schedule if you can. We took the kids out of school for a year and covered all 49 states in just about 15 months. The first six my wife had really planned out..as we got further into the trip we loosened up a bit and adjusted as we went.
Make sure you spend as much time as you can in Alaska and some of our other favorites were Big Bend,TX, All the national parks in Utah, and Maine.
For us it was a trip of a lifetime. We had a blog and took thousands of photos and hours of video.. Edited all together and now working on a photo book.

If you replaced “some” air bags it suggests to me you haven’t gone far enough. I wouldn’t hesitate to refresh the underside, including relay valves and then replace all fluids, filters, belts, hoses, etc. I would look at every air hose, and if original give serious thought to replacment. In other words as you may surmise the cosmetic stuff will take a secondary position to insuring the coach has been given extensive mechanical updates. My objective would be to never have to rely on someone for emergancy service while on the road.
I am presuming tires, batteries, etc are all new.

I would pressure check the cooling system just to be safe. Ours is a ’97 and the radiator rotted away last fall and had to be replaced.
