Trekmate Security System noise
Hello, Newbee here. First things first. Since this is my first post on this forum I need to take a moment and send out a “Thank you” to all the people who take the time out of their day and offer help and guidance to us in need. Buying a Prevost as my first RV two years ago this website has been a tremendous help in offering me guidance in owning and operating this coach with knowledge and confidence I otherwise would of never had. There is a lot of mechanics going on in this 40’/45′ stetch of engineering, mind boggeling at times. So Thanks.
Now for my first question. The Trekmate Modle RV717 security sysem will start making a whining sound right at the control module after a couple of days after powering down the bus. The sound may be a capacitor bleeding down? As soon as I power the bus back up and turn on the ignition key the noise stops. Is this something I should be conserned about or just the nature of the beast?

I think what you are hearing is the Trekmate security system will warn you after a couple of days of not using the door and not arming the system. Put it into valet mode to avoid that or lock the coach.

For all who are relatively new to this forum, please add a signature line with information that will help others understand what model year, coach type, and converter. It is very difficult to get good answers to questions when that information is not provided.
