Treadle Valve
I replaced my Treadle Foot brake valve like 6 years ago on one of our 1st trips,We were in Napa Calif Elks so not at home.Had problems with brakes releasing, When you let up on the brakes you hear the front Quick release valve valve make that duck sound, It had a pretty long delay when you released the pedal, 1st thing I replaced the Quick release valve no change so I called Prevost and they said Mine is a E-15 treadle valve changed to a E-10 valve. Napa had a good truck parts place so I picked a reman from them. A little different ports looked the same but where valve mounted a little different I had to get rid of the rubber bellows and new one then mounted right up, Has any one done this?? I rebuilt that reman valve last year put a kit in it, When I replaced it in Napa had not replaced dryer and air system was not very clean. Is the treadle valve prone to air leaks??

I pulled off #2 red 1/2 line and #1 3/8 green lines that go to brakes, should only have air when brakes are applied and both have none and exhaust at bottom none, on both 5/8 green and red supply lines on left go straight through to right side both go to shuttle valve and no leaks, This is telling me Treadle valve is good??

Mine does the same thing (duck sound is great description) but only in cooler/cold temps. Hot weather usually fine. A quick stomp and release on brake pedal usually immediately releases brakes. Kind of a PIA at times but apparently hasn’t concerned me enough to do anything about it yet 🙂
