Question for those who pull enclosed trailers. I am looking to pick up a 20-22’ enclosed car trailer to transport my 69 Camaro from CA to VT. Will likely take the 40 across. What has been your experience with weigh stations. Do you stop or just pass them by

    Thanks

I currently pull a 30’ ATC 13’3” high stacker trailer triple axle. I have pulled it from central Pa to Punta Gorda Fl for 5 years now with 2 cars in it. I use a 41’6” single axle 2002 Newmar Dutch Star. I also use a 97 Prevost XL 45’. I am with my 5’ tongue on trailer if you add up the length, I am over length limit. I have never stopped at a weight station and don’t intend to.

Don’t stop unless you are registered as a commercial vehicle or have signage on the outside that looks like advertising. In that case you must stop and have all the correct paperwork.

Thanks for the feedback, my intent is to keep moving by them as well. Just checking to see if anyone ever had any issues bypassing them. I figured the highway patrol has their eyes out for more serious things than a well maintained private coach pulling a trailer. Now I just need to find the right trailer. I looked at stackers, but decided it would be way more than what I needed and wanted to deal with. Half the places I stop at would likely require me to disconnect to be able to get into some of the tight spots they seem to always put me in regardless of the size information I provide in advance.
