trailer brake controller. wire
Posted by terry on March 31, 2022 at 10:39 pmHI. anyone found a brake controller wire that can be used. ? spare in the front to the rear ?. just thinking im not the only one that has looked for one. only need one to supply the trailer plug. thanks.

Its my understanding there is a modest bundle of unused wires that run from the dash to the engine compartment. I expect one of the smarter guys will tell us the wire numbers. Just confirm the wire you select isn’t already used for something else and has been spliced between the ends that you can’t see.

My coach is older than yours but i have a stacked screw terminal board on the left hand side in the engine bay electrical box. All of the tail light functions are there and they are converted to 12v for trailer and tow lights.

The previous owner had Prevost install one, they used a spare wire from front to back. They exist and are tan in color. I don’t have a wire number and haven’t looked but I’m sure they are on the electrical diagrams.

I’m not sure because of the age difference but if you have a 7 way plug in the back they ran a hot wire into it.
Also do you have a trailer makeup box in the curbside rear?

just started looking. i do have a relay box on the right side of engine compartment. no spare. only turn ,stop,tail,back up. inside the upper has the same wires on a bar. i will search for the brown wires. just thinking some one has done the same thing. and could save some time. thanks.
