  • Towing 2022 FORD 150

Posted by George on December 11, 2022 at 10:09 pm

The manual talks about neutral towing the vehicle and says to place the shifter in neutral and push M to tow but says not to tow more than 15 miles and at 35 MPH,

I looked up flat towing a Ford F150 and the instructions seem to be the same.

Can anyone educate me on this as I just bought this truck to tow behind my RV as my previous GMC was not able to be flat towed.

I hope you bought the 4X4 model.

    2022 prep to tow.

Please share your prep to tow. The instructions are not clear on towing as to possibility of damaging the transmission.

I tow a 2020 F150 4×4. Not sure about the 2022. On mine, you push the start button (without pushing the brake pedal) to get into accessory power mode. Put the transmission in neutral, then depress the brake pedal and turn the 4 wheel drive selector knob 5 times fully clockwise then back counter clock wise. It will come up in the cluster that its in neutral tow mode, then depress the start button (without pressing the brake) to turn off the truck. Leave the trans in neutral and get out. easy peasy

I think you are missing a step. Looks like the 2022 procedure is different than the 2020 that I have. I found this on the internet.

Once you do the “m” thing, you need to go into the menu and select neutral tow. Looks a little more complex, but certainly doable.
