Took the plunge
Hello All:
I am the one guy at the East Tennessee Luxury Coach maintenance Seminar this year that didn’t have a Prevost. Finally found one at a fiberglass dealer in SC, purchased it and had it move to Jeff’s shop in TN. Thankful to have attended the maintenance seminar and gained enough knowledge to feel comfortable purchasing my first Prevost. It needs some TLC and updating, but I got Jeff working on it so I am excited to get it in safe condition and start putting some mile on her.
Jeff: if you happen to read this take some pictures of your progress and post them.
P.S. Wife’s not happy I took her 2014 fiberglass coach away for a early 2000 model Prevost, but she is coming around as we talk with other Prevost owners.

Firstly, welcome to the land of “real” RVing… you just made a very good choice..Jeff will do whatever you want to make it “yours truly” !!
We did a similar thing years back.. we went from a HR 45′ 4 slide coach to a 1998 Prevost H3-45 with two slides..I really thought Larry had “lost it” !! I wasn’t a happy camper at first.
That’s right I said at first..I have always been a very “hands on” RV owner and it took one trip for me driving the bus to see what he was talking about and I wouldn’t go back for anything… the safety factors alone speak for themselves but these coaches are built to cruise..I had NEVER felt so safe and secure at the wheel… everything was so rock solid.. it’s not even comparable to a “plastic coach” after she sees how it’s built I am sure she will have a change of heart.
We previously owned Bluebirds and Newell Coaches and I can safely say there is NO competition between any of them compared to a Prevost.. time will tell. If she drives it as well she will see much quicker what the differences are… if she doesn’t then time will tell.

My wife does drive and does appreciate quality. I think she will come around sooner then later. I already see her getting interested.

Chuck: Congratulations! You took it to the right place. Its time for you to update your signature and include a picture of your coach.

Chuck, I don’t want to rain on your parade, but don’t oversell the coach to your wife. Until you get things sorted out and until you get some miles on it under your belt, learning it is like drinking from a fire hose and simple issues take a bigger appearance than reality.
Also on older coaches stuff breaks, is ready to break, or has a high potential to fail due to age, miles, or the phase of the moon. But you will get it sorted out, you will get it just right, and you will have a hard time getting the grin off your faces.

Chuck, welcome to the Vantare’ world. You will love it and your wife will grow to like it as well.
If you have questions, ask away. There are some secrets about the Vantare’, but you have George and Diane who can answer most, and I have a few bits of insight as well, just not as much as George and Diane. What we cannot answer Jeff can, so you are in good hands.

Congrats Chuck, that will teach you about hanging around with Roy, he helped you spend your money. Check out our seminar in March in FL, Tradewinds is well versed on Featherlite and the timing would be good for you.

Amen, Jon. When you’re talking about an almost 20 year old piece of machinery (and mine is near 230,000 miles), something is always broken but the biggest problem I have is trying to get the grin off my face whenever I see it.

Congrats on the good looking ride. It won’t take very many miles before you and Katrina know absolutely that it was the right decision. We’ve only had our Vantare for 2 1/2 years and 25k miles and couldn’t be happier. It has been a real good coach to us.
We’d like to see more pics when available.

Congratulations on your new “baby”. We know about your smile. After 19 years of Prevost ownership, I sit outside our current coach and stare at it in wonder with a huge grin on my face. We are all lucky to participate in a dream.

Chuck, this is the George that Foxtrot referenced. We are also in Fla (Sarasota). We have had our Vantare H for over 5yrs now and could not be more pleased. We have more than zeroed out everything (I am just slightly less anal than Jon) and have done many up-grades.
