Toilet – Ugrade or Rebuild
I was lucky enough to meet Ed Mullaney the Microphor parts
supplier last week while he was traveling across hwy. 80 here in
Florida and talk to him about my toilet repair. I have to make a
decision when I get back home in March to either rebuild the
Microphor LF-210 or replace it. This is the air operated, rear
discharge model.Parts are in stock, no problem, but I will end up with probably
600.00 or more in parts. So I started looking around at Marine/RV
toilets as a replacement. There are several out there that still make
air toilets, Microphor, Head Hunter, etc., but they are very
expensive.Electric jet type toilets appear to be an option, providing they
have a rear discharge. Anyone have any experience in updating to
these type toilets? -

Hey Tom, This is Rob Russell at Russell Coach. I hope you are well. In our builds we have used both the Microphor and the electric jet type toilets; both of which are great toilets. My call out would be if you change toilets, will the footprint be the same? If not, is the flooring that is currently in your coach still available? Will you be able to replace so that everything looks the same or will it turn into a complete bathroom re-model? I would most likely replace the parts if it was due to the parts needing to be replaced due to age or simply maintainence. Thanks Rob, good points. I think my best approach is to just rebuild and keep the current footprint for reasons you have pointed out. I have been to your website and it looks great. Hope to see the Entertainer crowd visiting the site soon.
How about some pictures and progress report on that new bus your converting?
