Tires – AITA Program and Goodyear San Antonio
So I have had two excellent experiences with the Commerical Goodyear Tire Distribution Center in San Antonio, TX I would like to share from the past two months.
When I bought coach in April 2018 it had Goodyear G291 L ratings on all axles. And I had a spare with a date code of 2010.
1st experience was we had a slow leak on the passenger side inside drive tire before we took a 4000 mile road trip in July. One day before trip I noticed a leak. Called them up and service department said come on in and we’ll take a look. After removing drive and inside tire they found that the extension was leaking. My bill was $80.00. You could not do this on your own for that money. Especially since they balance both tires. What they found was the extension adapter between stem was leaking. And off we went to the top of Michigan.
2nd experience after getting back from trip we had a 30 PSI leak on passenger side tag tire every two days. So I went back to them and bought 2 new Tag tires. Why two? Because when I bought the coach in April the PAX tag tire was not in as good as shape as the others and their was a suspected leak but it seemed to be stable.
Turns out their was a two inch long nail sticking thru the inside of tire and tire was not worth keeping in my opinion. Total bill to replace two tags and balance them plus purchasing two new valve stems was $130.00 total including disposal fee for one tire.
The guys are very professional and I am probably the only Prevost they have seen in years come to their center. This is the distribution center for South Texas but they do work on coaches. With a little help showing them the jacking points they did the rest.
I bought two G291 315/80r/22.5 L rating from them a few weeks ago because they had 4 in stock. What is nice is that date codes match up exactly.
The deal I got using the AITA program offered by this Community Forum is “smoking good deal”. So good … I am not even going to share the price I paid per a tire. But I will say, if you are not in registered for this program for Goodyear, Michelin, or NAPA parts …just saying….
So, if you blow a tire or need tire(s) and are in the San Antonio area call Goodyear Commercial Tire Distribution Center off of Dietrich Rd. Gordan Frazier …Goodyear National Account Rep who handles the AITA program walked me through the process. What a great guy.
To add some comparison:
Camping World wanted $150.00 per a tire since I did not buy tires from them. TA truck stop said they would not and cannot replace private motorcoach or bus tires.

I used the PC link, and came up with $475 ea + $52 FET ea, + mounting and balancing for the GY L rated G291? Is that about right?
For what its worth? I’ve always used “Rays Tire Service” RaysTire link. Ray is a neighbor to you and me, lives about halfway between us. I haven’t bought many tires from him, but I have given him my old tires in exchange for him mounting and balancing the new ones that I bring him for free. He has a $100k tire machine that’s incredible.
