It must be early. Per my earlier post I calculated my front wheel weights to be 7,900 lbs. Michelin says that for 315 XA2 tires I should be at 110 psi–not 105 and not 115. Like most, I add 5 psi for safety which brings me to 115psi. Maybe I’ll come down 5 psi from 120 psi to 115 psi. What I won’t do is come down to 105 psi. At 115 psi or even 120 psi, I’m below the 130 psi maximum pressure allowed by Michelin. Although 120 psi will carry 8,530 lbs, that’s not what is driving me to 120 psi nor most others that overinflate their tires; it’s safety. Underinflated tires are dangerous.

Net-net, I should inflate my front tires to 110 psi per the weights I’ve measured plus added calculated weight not on the bus when weighed. Anything less may be dangerous, anything more (but less than 130 psi), may affect ride and/or thread wear.

You will still be over inflated at 115, or even 110, but that is better than underinflated.

I believe I used to carry 110 in my ft 315’s. I kept the pressure there to try to have a decent ride (soft) and avoid as much edge wear as possible. Higher psi will give you less edge wear and harder ride. Since I switched to 365’s, I’m carrying 90 and loving it!

For those who have 365 tires, can you tell me approximately how many ounces of balancing weights were used? Mine are around 11 on one, and 13 on the other.

Pat, would never use weights. Either use Equal or install Centramics….preferably the latter. Geo.

Ditto use centramtics all the way around and you will never have to worry about it , wheel weights can come off and go through things under the coach

Use Centramatic’s as they balance everything, wheel,hub, tire. Watch the video Centramatic produces. Weights are a complete joke with other options available today.

I have Centramatics. Prior to that I used Equal for about 17 years.

Both work, both balance all rotating components.

Neither is without shortcomings. The use of Equal or its equivalent requires the use of filters on the Schrader valve and even then it is possible the valve will not seat. With experience that problem goes away by always giving the tire a shot of air when checking pressure. Centramatics can fail. I had one fall when the internal balancing media would not distribute itself around the outer ring. Centramatic stood behind the problem by repalcing the bad one at their expense.
