  • Time Share for RV spots ???

Posted by Robert on February 7, 2014 at 1:49 pm

I know you guys probably think, that guy sure posts alot. The fact is we are finally going to start traveling long distance later this year so I have been catching up on everything I can think of that could possibly cause us grief.

While planning some of the places we want to go I wondered if there was any type of “Time Sharing” group that coordinates personal RV spots. I know there are commercial campgrounds that rent owner spots for them.

We have a barn with full hook-up in Plant City Fl., also 5 acres in Murphy N.C. with full hook-up for 6 RV’s. Currently building another barn with full hook-up in Tallahassee Fl.

These are all personal properties and I wondered how many other Prevost owners have similar RV spots at their home base that would be interested in swapping stay times. By swapping stay times there would not be any $$$ transfered unless needed to make up for lesser amenities.

I know some folks probably have their coaches in barns or garages with the rest of their personal tools etc. so that might present some concern. Many others might not have sewer. Some may not be under cover at all.

I can see where there might be alot of logistics involved to see that there was an even swap, but it might be worth looking into. Maybe a list of interested folks with the locations and amenities and leave the swapping up to them.

We want to go out West and make the loop, it would be nice to find a few centrally located bases to travel out from. And while we are out there for 6 months or so, it would be great to have someone at one of our home bases in Florida or N.C.

Just throwing it out there wondering if anyone else had this idea.

Secret Service Guard Goose. Who would have thunk it! 2000 acres that’s that’s what I call an RV park. Peter, Do you need tire chains or snow cat to access most of it this time of year? Lite dust of snow (and I mean dust around Austin Tx.) and the whole place shutdown here. Crazy people.

We were in Tallahassee and they closed the schools last Monday. No snow, just some light ice sprinkles.

Don’t even start about Atlanta, and they see snow every year.

    Peter,

Elsie and I would like to take you up on your offer sometime when we are in the area as I’m sure it would be a great place to visit.

It would be really nice if you were to share with the members here some of the really interesting horsey things you are involved in, as most of them probably have no idea, due to your modesty, of the amazing abilities you have taught yourself concerning communication with not only horses but those who yearn to have that closer relationship to all things equus.

    Just a thought.

    Thanks,

Peter, spent a month in the winter (Jan) in 1981 in Riverton starting a office/shop for a man I started out working as a kid in 1972. Had to show the new operation’s manager what he needed to do. Took a brand new Olds 98 Diesel car up there and shut it down the night I got there at the motel didn’t plug in ( might have been Budweiser induced brain fart) and that dude was froze solid the next day. had to haul it to the shop to thaw out and get running. Left that dude running for a week after that until I rented a 4 WD pick up to get around. Came up from Odessa tx.. I tell people I spent a year one month up in Wyoming. It was beautiful even with all the snow. Don’t think it got above 10 degrees the whole month. Boss sent me to Vernal Utah in march for same deal. Seen the pattern from boss man. Quit and started my on Company up. LOL.

Any one in the southwest area of Virginia, are welcome to overnite or stay for a few days milepost 163 on Blue Ridge Parkway, go 200 feet exit on Woods Gap road, watch close or you will miss it, right on woods gap rd look to the left you will se the coach barn, made to look like a working barn but is not. have 50amp outside with water and sewer dump, no neighbors close by just wildlife, cool in the summer cold as hell in the winter, just had 30″ of snow last week.
