  • time and date stamp

Posted by Clint on June 3, 2025 at 6:40 am

Just checking to see if I’m missing something, I don’t see time and date stamp on anything other than first post.

    Not seeing it.

Was that a design decision? Was the consensus it’s not needed?

I found it helpful. Seems to be on most heavily utilized forums I participate in.

I agree, not being able to see a date/time stamp for each reply makes it impossible to know how old any particular reply is. Especially on older and longer threads.

Admins, is there an update on this? Not knowing the time and date of the post you’re replying to is frustrating.

I agree. Have worked hard at being patient with the new form. Prevost Community has been my favorite go to site for years and I feel obligated to be patient and get through the challenges, but the new site/form is completely inconsistent with most other sites and time consuming to navigate through.

It is with great sorrow that I admit my patience is growing short and I am nearing a permanent departure from this site/form. It just ain’t what it used to be.

    I’m with ya.

What makes this even more discouraging is that this is basic stuff. If a ‘development team‘ with past forum experience is involved, that team would have surely understood the importance of time and date stamp. If they didn’t, I would question their experience. If they did, but a design decision was made by the admins to not include time and date stamp, it would be nice if the rational supporting that decision was shared with the users. Otherwise, users will continue to be frustrated – not good.

The Prevost DIY community desperately needs a viable forum for long form troubleshooting and modification threads, and data/knowledge archival. Facebook is terrible for that.

Wanderlodge Owners Group is the benchmark for what an active and healthy RV/Bus enthusiasts forum can be. They do it with no ads, no fees, and it runs vBulletin. The forum owner is immensely invested in the community and hyper active on the forum – reads every thread and has 50K+ post . The admins and moderators are ever present making sure the guard rails are observed. It is not uncommon to average 50+ p/day for months at a time on WOG.

It feels like PC has morphed into a sales advertising platform first, with a little bit of forum thrown in. IMO, it doesn’t feel like an optimized forum user experience was the primary goal.

I will continue to pop in every couple of weeks or monthly, but for now FB (good or bad) is where the Prevost activity is. And as I’ve said before, I loath FB.

Clint, the Prevost experience is much different than the Wanderlodge experience.

We are trying. But there is still a “timeframe “

The current times for of 5 minutes ago, 2 days ago, 1 week ago, 4 months ago, and 10 years ago still gives a frame of reference

I see a “timeframe” for the last reply, but not for any other replies. This is not helpful at all.
