Thoughts and advice replacing bay air
Hello All,
I have a 2000 xl originally converted by Lieber Coach. The house air system is a Rudd in the bay. I had my brother in law who is an HVAC technician take a look at it because it stopped blowing cold. He ran CO2 through it because there was no pressure and you could hear a BIG leak coming out of the coils. The top of the unit has no vents while there were some on the side. In the middle of the unit there was an industrial blower just set in and not secured. He believes the blower was being slammed around and beat the you know what out of the coils until it finally blew a good size hole in the copper. I was looking to replace it and had rooftop air quoted and lets just say thats out of the question…lol. Can anyone recommend a replacement unit, also why would the top of the unit have no vents. He suggested one that discharged out the side might work and move air better. Anyone have experience with these, I just want to make sure I choose the right replacement. I think I might change the unit in the closet up in the bunk area as well so I can switch to the new coolant and hopefully get something more efficient. Thanks for anyones input.
