Thomas air pump and tank
This coach as the Thomas air pump and that tank is the only aux tank suppling air to air bags, engine air bags, step and door lock (and likely others).
There is a button to drain the tank but the relay clicks but nothing happens. Looks like the previous owner knew this and installed an additional manual drain to the tank which does work. If anyone is familiar with that drain/solenoid setup could you let me know so I can choose to fix it or ignore it?

You can take the valve and relay apart and try to fix it.
They don’t last a real long time because of all the moisture the compressor makes.
Jeff might have some of those at his shop or can tell you what to order and where. On my coach I installed a water separating filter with a auto drain valve on it.
Or you can just use a manual valve.
Keep that compressor tank dry to avoid lots of problems.

My 2000 CC had the Prevost installed aux air tank as well as the CC installed aux compressor and tank.
Your comment, “This coach as the Thomas air pump and that tank is the only aux tank suppling air to air bags, engine air bags, step and door lock (and likely others)” doesn’t make sense to me. Are you saying there is no Prevost aux tank?

Bill, I have had to pull the solenoid apart a couple of times in the past and clean it out. It had collected gunk from the tank. Easy job, there is a small o ring so be careful not to loose it. I have not replaced the o ring but probably would if I do it a third time. The power switch on mine only vents while you hold it down. I think Truk was where I learned about this.

Tom, yes, the Thomas tank appears to be the only AUX tank. I found that to be unusual as well but Jeff said that it was indeed the only AUX tank. If there is another, I have no idea where it would be as it is nowhere up front in the lower bay.

Maybe I will get some time to pull the relay/valve apart, thanks for the info. Have a bunch of things to get taken care of as we bought a new towed as well. I will try to keep everyone updated.

The Prevost installed accessory tank should be at the top of the space between the steer tires. There should be two tanks there, and one will be accessory. Prevost does not put tanks in the bays or steer compartment.

You have a Prevost aux tank Bill and the drain petcock is in the steering bay. Think about it, how would Prevost get the shell to CC without an aux tank? As Jon pointed out, it’s mounted above the steer.

The aux air tank is not in the steering bay as it was on my ’88 so I have to assume it is outside on the top part of the exterior components above the axle area somewhere. I don’t see any kind of drain in that compartment or the area behind the bumper other than the one at the bottom of the Thomas tank.
We are currently parked and the air dumped so I’m not going under the coach again for awhile. The search goes on!

Turn the steer tires full left or right and you can see the tanks. Each (secondary brake and accessory) will have drain cocks at the bottom.

My last few coaches had drains in the steering bay for the aux tank due to limited access to drain the tank.
