  • Think I found my air leak

Posted by Jack on November 16, 2021 at 1:15 pm

This all started on the way home in Oct. Blew a left front air bag at the Ohio state line on I-75. Had a shop there replace the front two bags and then home. The coach is a 1999 and I found none of the bags or valves had ever been replaced. This is what it took to get all the leaks out.

Now I can start on the Aux. system

biggest help I found was go prevostcar website and download pumatic diagram. then take it to office depot and have it blown up 2ft x 3ft and lamated ($9) use dry erase markers to trace probable cause of leaks..

Good move Jack, peace of mind. 22 years of service says it all.

    Jack-

I’m in a similar situation. Everything airs up ok, but within a couple of days there is sag. I know the air bags are original.

Roughly what was the materials cost for the air bags and valves?

To do all the airbags and the valves about $2500.00. I could have saved a little is I had bought all the valves at one time, but I keep thinking this will be the last one. Even after the six I replaced now I have one more going in. That will only leave about 3 old ones in the coach.

Now I can start finding the leaks in the Aux system.

    Jack-

    Thanks for the price information.

I hear you on the go to replace a light bulb, and end up rewiring the room scenario.

    Best regards
