The Mother-Ship
Sometimes it pays going back to the Mother-Ship of your converter … since you can pick up interesting tid-bits.
For example, Steve Irwin, Marathon’s CFO, came thru the waiting room yesterday just to chat. Other than chatting about sales climbing each of the last five years, and revenue clmibing from 55 million dollars to 65 million dollars this year. They are “hiring” for every skill/trade.
But he also informed me that my coach, #696, and coach #572, are “unique” coaches. I was hoping they put some 24k gold somewhere in the coach I hadn’t notice. Not to be …
However, he informed me that these two coaches were actually painted by Prevost in Quebec. Although he can’t remember why these two coaches were painted by Prevost, he assured me that Prevost’s commerical paint jobs for their buses met Marathon’s standards, but cost them more money.
But it’s nice to know that you’re special sometimes 🙂

You have to admit, pretty nice to be able to talk to the management without an appointment.

Tim we toured the factory in Sainte Claire in 6/16. The guide, a thirty year employee, said that our vintage was painted there at the factory also, but they only paint the one color transit buses now. I believe I counted only 5 paint booths, all next to each other. They were cranking out 2.5 buses per week then, and they said that was a busy rate. No time to put all the colors on.
