For years my wife was of the opinion people drove like morons because of the bus. I disagreed and only now does she understand those fools are everywhere and no matter what you are driving they appear out to get us.
The only difference is that when we are in the bus, sitting up high we see a lot more idiotic driving than when we are in our car.
I am working very hard to come up with a cannon that would be out of sight that I can mount in the front of our cars or the bus. The cannon would shoot paint filled projectiles and the paint would permanently stain the car it hits. The color would be one that would be universally seen as identifying jackasses. So far my inability to finalize the design of the cannon is the fear it will splash back and stain the front of our vehicles.
I’ve done some checking and found the use of bullets would cure the problem with splashback, but there might be laws against them.

Had a young lady working for me, her opinion was “big truck, big brakes”. Needless to say I corrected her thinking quickly.

As a site consisting mostly of people who went to school and learned how to do math, read, write, etc. we are incapable of relating to kids of today who have cell phones in school, use calculators to do math, and who are taught more about political viewpoints rather than the three R’s.
So when they get to drive, simple concepts like the laws of physics that dictate stopping distances are beyond their ability to comprehend.
Add to that a seeming bias against motor homes driven by rich bastards who must have gotten them by cheating someone and it is clear we have no choice but to drive defensively because they really are out to get us.
I wouldn’t be paranoid if they would quit picking on me.

This happens so often at KC location…not much attention paid by the public. Heavy tow business is good.
Annnnnnnd the hits just keep on com’in. Westbound at the bridge. Fifty three feet of palletized, strapped cardboard and a driver wearing plaid pajamas.
For the record, the driver, once the trailer was unhooked, drove away, turned around and tried to come back through the opposite direction. Folks, ya can’t make this stuff up. An Inspector with Kansas City Terminal Railway is presently on the scene photographing damage and making sure all lights are operational.

Anyone doubt that there will soon be a new “revenue adjustment” coming from governments on those with driveable personal assets over $100K? This is to go along with Jon’s rich @$&&&)$ comment.
The day is coming where it is not just how much you earn, or have earned over your life, but a revenue balance for everyone else against us for the lifetime earnings.
i hear it a lot these days from the friends of my 28, 25, and 23 year old son’s that I must be rich having a Prevost. Why not share it with this generation and the next generation?
No matter a life time of education, work, etc. that I am now supposed to re-balance my life-to-date earnings to give it away. Geez.

I hope Ron is wrong. I’ll stop there to avoid this turning into a political discussion.
But his observation about people assuming Prevost owners are wealthy is pretty accurate. I have no idea what the average definition of wealthy is but for about 30 years my wife and I have been made very aware that our Prevost coaches suggest to the world we have great wealth.
We hear it in truck stops when refueling. The drivers that do engage in conversation make it clear only the mega rich can have a coach like a Prevost. In campgrounds people are more polite, but they still send the message “I wish I could afford a Prevost”. Sometimes the people saying that have a brand new Signature that had to have cost far more than I ever spent on my coaches.
The point is clear. Whether it is politicians who cannot keep their hands from our pockets, or the average citizen we are not universally viewed favorable, we got the money to buy our coach by cheating someone, and we are supposed to share what we have.
For the first couple of weeks of Prevost ownership we thought it was fun seeing people taking videos or photos or us or the coach, or groups of people in a campground stopping in front of the coach and discussing it, but we no longer appreciate the attention. In fact we try to be nice, we wave or smile or nod our heads at others, but we tend to be withdrawn unless we are at a PC rally or event, and then we are begging for dues money.
I do promise to give 100% of my share of dues money to the government if if needs a little something until the next payday.

Our last trip to Charleston, SC a few months ago was interesting. We have two spots we really like that are close to a water park so that we can our grand daughter there and back quickly and safely. Unfortunately, our preferred site is right next to the check in/market. So, the coach draws attention.
Each and every day on this trip we had people stopping and talking on the road in front of us about how much that Prevost must have cost , and how they feel sorry for our repairs/service. Mind you, we like to sit outside with our grand daughter. We hear all of these comments. It can sometimes be disconcerting.
We have worked long and hard to get to this point. While we do well we do not consider ourselves to be wealthy. We consider ourselves to be studious and determined to the right thing for us. The Prevost we own is our first and will not be our last. We have decided to be cordial and smile when the comments come, but we refuse to be insulted and pushed inside because of rude and inappropriate behavior.
We do not see a lot of Prevost in Greenville or even during our trips. But when we do we know full well how to wave, speak kindly, and show respect towards the Prevost family.

I have 2 dash cams, both with almost 180 degrees of view. I have two significant fears that compelled me to get a video record of what is going on.
The first concern is those who are either very stupid or who are hoping for a big insurance payday. They are the ones who pull in too close, failing to leave stopping distance and then hit the brakes. Some do that intentionally, some do it without thinking. We all know the vehicle following has a duty to maintain a safe distance, but without proof we cannot defend against the idiot who takes it away from us.
The second concern I have relates to the significant number of people who have no understanding of how to merge or why they call the driving lane the right of way. Those folks will expect us to move over to let them enter the highway, completely unaware we may have traffic along side of us preventing a lane change. They aren’t smart enough to accelerate to get ahead of us or to slow down so they can drop in behind us so their reaction is to get mad at us at which point we have no clue what to expect from them.
What is so sad is we think drivers are getting worse.
