The Cruise-Air SMX panel won’t light up.
We have four Cruise-Airs all controlled by individual SMX panels. Without warning one of the SMX panels has quit working so I cannot control the respective C-A. The respective breaker for the circuit this C-A is wired to is ON. The ON/OFF icon for this C-A circuit on the driver’s touch screen panel is ON.
I was able to carefully pulled the SMX front panel off the back part (while holding my breath waiting for it to crack) and then reseat it … still no work.
What’s wrong?
Could it be that a Allen-Bradley relay went bad or isn’t fully seated? How do I figure our which relay it is? Where are they located?
Or … it is something else.

Dick,
You said you pulled the black face off the panel and reseated it. Did you unscrew the panel and unplug and replug from the back of the panel?
There should also be 4 control boxes in the first curbside bay probably mounted on the ceiling of the bay. Figure which box is for the unit in question and do the same thing with that plug.
I had the same issue and Fred at AAP recommended this. It corrected the problem, until another issue.

You can remove the smx touch panel and switch it with another working unit to see if the problem follows the touch panel…As Jim said the control boards are in the 1st bay…you can pull the cover off and verify power there…might want to power it down while pulling the cover off…
