Texas safety inspection in Austin area
Hi All,
Anyone know of a descent place to get the vehicle inspection done for our bus in the Austin Texas area? We just moved and are trying to get new Texas registration. Thanks!

Over 70 miles West of you but just got mine down at the local Inspection Shop. They also work on cars there. Over in La Grange went to the same type Inspection Station. You’re not DOT so anybody can do them. They don’t drive your coach and wouldn’t let anybody drive mine anyway. They just have checked the essentials on mine from outside the coach or have the last 8 years I’ve owned mine. Just make sure you can get it in and out. Truck shops do them also and have bigger yards to get around in.. Just tell them it’s no DOT.

We get ours done at Iron Horse on the northwest side of San Antonio right off IH-35.

Lee hoffpauir auto in Burnet is where I have been getting my inspection for years. They are great, have a large lot to turn around in. I call first to be sure they guys who do inspections are there. No brake check, just lights, horn, wipers…
