  • Testing of Transfer Switch: Update

Posted by Ronald on August 15, 2020 at 12:42 pm

After troubleshooting from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM I had reached my stopping point and I wrote the previous thread entitled: Testing of Transfer Switch&gen fan Cooling breaker, and as soon as I posted I found the issue. Let me say this about myself, I am not too proud to say that I am sometimes beyond stupid.

Ron, Once up on a time I spent over $4,0000 on an over heating problem only to find out that I had a loose fan belt due to an air leak. Correct repairs are the fun part on these machines.

Have had a problem and never really used my Wrico 15 KW gen set and a couple months ago after changing Transfer switch and new Magnum Inverter ( What Texas Custom Coach, Pipecreek Tx. says was wrong) unit still ran for a bit,, 30 minutes to an hour and shut down with overheat. I finally figured out and what 2 other companies (The other Griffin Industries) didn’t it’s the gen set dropping power and no AC for cooling fans. . Wrico says probably bad regulator. I’ve got to pull it myself as I’m not spending more of these greenbacks for crappy work. Can’t get to back of gen set as slide doesn’t come out far enough.
