Testing 8 d battery
is the standard battery tester sufficient to test an 8 D
held test button till coils b came cherry red and waited another 15 second before discontinuing test . According to tester it was a good battery. Voltage dropped to 11.8 and went to 12 .8 when I stopped test cycle.

A toaster (old style battery tester) will not accurately test an AGM. You can use by using a multi meter to read the voltage while pushing the toggle switch that puts the load on the battery.
