Here is a video link of a gent testing 70 yr old QS oil vs new conventional QS oil.

No wonder our engines didn’t last very long back then.

Today’s engines, their lubricants, their coolants, and the software that controls all that is going on all have been jointly developed to work together.

If an old engine got to 100,000 is was usually worn out, where today it is not unusual for engines to easily reach 200,000 miles, and what is amazing to me is today’s engines are highly stressed putting out substantial power per cubic inch compared to the 70 year old engines, and yet they easily outlast them, do not burn oil and are getting very high mileage.
