Tank monitor lights
The tank monitor lights have just started losing their way, both of them. The fresh has 3/4 and full on when they should be off, and the waste has 1/4 and 1/2 off when they should be on. Anyone been there done that?

If there is an air leak, it will give false readings, generally lower than it is, otherwise it just needs to be recalibrated. Easy with the instructions.

Dan, As Dana said the plastic line going into each tank has to be leak free at the module. The Headhunter system measure the pressure associated with the contents of the tank. If the water tank is full for example it will have about 2 feet of head pressure which if my memory is correct is about 9 PSI. The module sees that pressure and lights the lights to reflect the tank contents based on that pressure.
Step one is to verify the connection to the module is leak free.
If you have to recalibrate the sensors the procedure can be found on the Headhunter web site. However it is time consuming to do the re-calibration on the tank itself because there is so much water involved so I have a stand pipe made from Lowe’s finest plastic in a 4″ pipe size tube with a cap on the bottom. The tube is the height of the holding or water tank and instead of filling the big tanks with well over 100 gallons I just take the hose (tubing) that goes into the tank out and use the Lowe’s special stand pipe for the calibration.

I’m having high quality ignorance here. I don’t have a headhunter pump, it is Groco 24 volt, looks like a typical car starter motor. Does that mean I don’t have headhunter monitor system?
i just looked at the tanks, and they have four hardwired sensors through the sidewall of each. Here is a pic of what I look at in the cabinet above the windshield.

My bad because I assumed you had the Headhunter tank level system. I cannot help you regarding the kind with sensors with wires located on the outside of the tank.

That style system has a small float at each level that is indicated on the panel…so it sounds like you have some sticky or possibly failed….you can remove them from the tanks and try to clean them up…just be prepared you may have to find a new gasket that keeps this all sealed up
