Here is a classic example of the difference between how PC is managed and how Jamie manages POG and Prevost-Stuff. If PC was promoted on the POG site, or even mentioned, you can bet it would be followed with the delete button. Most of the POG folks who are also PC members won’t do that out of courtesy to their fellow POG members.
Jon and I on the other hand look at what’s best for our members and look beyond the unfriendly atmosphere from the other side. We have lots of folks looking for buses, whether a first time buyer or upgrading and seeing a bunch of Prevost’s in one place is a great way to kick tires and ask lots of questions.
So, have a good time at the Prevost show, I won’t be going because this is my last bus!

Until the next one with slides? I am sure somebody told me you were thinking about that….don’t remember who, but I am sure I heard it somewhere…?

Why the animosity from POG, or rather the POG administrators toward PC?

So TOM, you currently call them BUS, in the future will you be calling them plural, “COACH”

This is the short version………..
Tom and I and several others were founding members of POG. It was created to be a private forum for owners who wanted the freedom to say what they wanted about suppliers, converters and service companies as well as a place we as friends could have conversations not open to the world at large.
The site went through two ownership changes and the present owner used a heavy hand and censored some discussions because he was afraid it would piss off some advertisers, which defeated the original purpose of the group.
Tom and I and several other original POG members also at about that time came to realize as the various Prevost clubs or groups were formed it fragmented the owners to the point where no single group had the numbers to negotiate for programs such as PC offers. Also no other group is free. Not that $100 will put anyone into bankruptcy, but it is a limiting factor in reaching all Prevost enthusiasts. So when we were unable to convince the owner of POG to create what PC gas become using Prevost Stuff as the base we told the owner we would do it with Prevost’s blessing and encouragment.
That pissed him off because he rakes in a bunch of money from folks that want to talk on the POG forum so he immediately jerked both Tom and I around, even though we were both dues paying members who just wanted a platform open to all Prevost enthusiasts, not a site that siphons members from any other site. We continue to want PC to be a supplement to any group or club. In a short period of time we found ourselves non-members and speaking personally I am past caring about POG but continue to be amused at how we are still viewed as the enemy.
Tom may wish to add to this but we have such a large and strong membership that POG is tiny compared to our site that I don’t believe the mention of POG is a threat. For what it worth we have influenced POG greatly because POG no longer is quick to censor legitimate conversations about advertisers so the tail is now wagging the dog.

I can post the whole thing about POG in a very short statement.
If you post on POG about a none advertiser you will be censored immediately. If you question the censorship you will be removed in no more then 15 minutes. All your info and posts gone, see ya, good bye.
It happened to me when I posted a message about Marathon Corp. who at that time was a non-advertiser.
POG is operated for profit…period
That why PC has become so successful, has more bus info in 1 day then POG has in a week.
Not an opinion it’s a fact

Jon/Al, thanks for the history lesson. Sounds like the $100 is better off in my Prevost fund rather than their pockets!
Keep up the good work.

If I reopened any old wounds by posting this information, I am truly sorry. Being new, I guess I did not have the privlege of knowing the history of this wonderful site and was only trying to inform fellow Prevoists (if that actually is a word?) of an upcoming event that required an additional step from the past.
Again I apologize to anyone I may have offended.

No need to apologize. We are happy to have conversations about any group, any Prevost topic, and anything of common interest. Post away.
A lot of folks have an interest in buying a coach or upgrading to a newer one. No need to hide information.
-
Ditto what Jon said Fred, no problem and we’re glad you’re on PC.

Thank you for your kind comments. I really enjoy this group. The knowledge of the coaches, the comaradie, and above all the humerous banter makes this group number one in my book. This site has been a library of knowledge with everyone eager to help anyone. I can think of no newbe who could, in any way, disparage the fine people that post on this site. Again, I will repeat what has been said by numerous people…Tom and Jon, Thank you so very much for this site and if I missed anyone by not knowing the history, those I missed, my hat is off to you as well.

All that said, Mr. Bradford from POG does put on a very, very nice all-Prevost show in January of 2013. I see no reason why it should be any less in 2015. For anyone thinking of buying a Prevost, that is a “must attend event”.

In addition to all the other “Flowers” (good comments) spoken about PC vs POG, I’ll add another one. PC’s site is MUCH easier IMO than POG to navigate around on the site!
Keep up the good work Jon/Tom, and all my fellow PC members.
