Thanks I replaced the drives and tags in Oct 2012 and have put 52,000 miles on them .I was told in March 2018 by Petes Tire in Indio that my tires needed replacing because they were down to 7/32 ,thought I should get another 10,000 miles or so out of them.

That seems like a lot of wear in 52,000 miles. It would appear if accurate you are using approximately 2/32 per 10,000 (a little more than you average in a year) so going down to 5/32 will take a little more than a year at which point your tires will have 7 years of age.

The only set I came close to wearing out had 130,000 on them and 1/4″ (8/32″) of tread when I got rid of them. Truckers get a whole lot of miles out of tires, sometimes in excess of 200,000. I would find out if the dealer was BSing you about tread depth, and if not find out why you have so much wear.

Checked tire depth myself they are 7/32. Guess I must be driving too fast and peeling off the rubber on the hot highways. Tire’s are wearing total even across.

Since our tires start out from 17 to 19/32 tread depth and have 12 to 14/32 useable tread depth approximately I would guess a wear of 1/32 per 10,000 miles would be expected based on my tire wear from past experience. I know I had about 60,000 miles on the set i replaced in 2017 and the tread depth was nowhere near where the minimum, but I also did not measure them.

Can we get some other owners to post tread depth figures along with miles on the tires? I think it would be interesting to see if there is a “normal” value for tire wear.

I doubt if rolling straight down the interstates wears the tires a lot, but doing a lot of driving on curvy roads seems like it would wear heavily. I have no idea how or if speed affects wear.

Just swapped my drives in April 2018. They ran 60,000 miles over ten years and had 11/32” tread left. 17/32” when new.

All coach current Michelin wheels and tires(365 front and tag, 315 drive) were installed by Prevost, August 2018 at ~119,000 miles, included 3 Axle alignment and new airbags in front.

All other suspension / brake(chambers)components were zeroed out by Jeff in 2016 and Prevost 2016/2017.

Current mileage ~141,000.

315’s new tire depth – 17/32

Current status after ~ 22,000miles
