Tailgate Supports
Hi All,
Getting set up to take my golf cart with me and noticed most folks rely on the factory straps to hold the tailgate up. Most owners manuals suggest do not depend on them to support any weight, not to even sit on the tailgate depending on them.
So I started looking and found these. They are available for most pickups and think they are pretty good. Got mine yesterday and tested them, they are great.

I used to use them when I put a RZR800 side by side in the bed of my F250. They worked fine, and I’m sure they add some support. My concern was that they rely on the latch to support the tailgate load. That said, the factory support cables were never under tension when I checked them.

I use the Blue Ox tailgater lot more money but much better. Darrell

Sometimes we lay a 1×4 across the very back of the bed and then a couple of 2×6’s under the wheels and that eliminates any weight on the tailgate at all.
A couple screws to attach the runners to the cross piece to keep it intact.
