Tag lift chamber
Bought a type 36 chamber from Napa. went to install and figured out that the diameter at the mounting surface will interfere with the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket angles away about a 45 degree angle from the mounting surface. The original chamber had a much smaller diameter for the first few inches and in fact went thru the mounting plate.
Pastassist shows a kit for the replacement but none in stock. Also, a different mounting plate is shown after my sn, although mine is welded to the frame.
Anyone know how the kit is used for updated chamber, pn 641425, used in kit is98055?
I tried several times before to replace diaphram, but it would pull out on one side and leak.

I ran into this last year. Rather than cut/modify the bracket, I ordered two 36 chambers from Prevost part #19519975 $46 each. Used the old housings and new pushrods/diaphragms.
I had to replace pushrods – my clevis/yokes were not coming off so out came the grinder. Had to shorten new pushrods but no biggie.
Looking at receipt I wrote that I used top of new chambers also. Don’t remember.

I had the same problem when I replaced mine. The fix i did was make a steel spacer and use longer bolts. There is plenty of travel with the linkage and chain. My guess is that’s what the retrofit does.

I had a diaphragm go bad on mine, bought a new replacement and like you said, it would push out and leak when tightened. I made sure the mating surfaces were good and cleaned, put a little mating sealer around the edge on the pressure side, let it get very tacky. I then completed the assembly of the chamber, installed, let completely dry overnight. That was five years ago, its been fine with no leaking.
Just my experience and remedy.

Someone? had done a bad job of changing the #36 diaphragm in the tag lifting chamber(see pic-old is left, new is right) so it leaked. I don’t ever raise my tag so it was no big deal to me.
