Tag axle
Posted by Archived on October 27, 2015 at 9:21 pmHello folks,
I forgot to ask this question at ETLC ‘know your Prevost’.
If we raise our tag and forget to lower it, is there a warning?
Since we have a lever to raise and lower, I would think it wouldn’t lower automatically.
What’s the scoop?

Mark,
Pretty sure all tag axles are set to automatically come down at a certain speed. Usually 5 MPH. -
Mark, on our coach once you activate the mechanical switch, there is an audio signal/beep that will not go away unless you deactivate / lower the tag…

There is an idiot light that comes on when you flip the switch to raise the tag, and on some models / years an alarm goes off too…beeper style. On my Liberty, the light is still there on the dash, but no alarm. I have no idea what year that changed.

next time we see you guys we’ll let Keesha (St Schnauzer) (aka canine tag lift indicator) near your coach when you flip your “tag” lever, and you can listen to her squeal to the beeper.

Mr. Steve,
We also have the ‘tag lift’ indicator light on the dash. I just have never driven off with it up and wondered if I did (easy to forget things sometimes)…. what would happen.
Apparently, I’ll load my driver’s seat with rose petals from the sound of it! LOL!
Safe travels!
Mr. Mark

My SOB coach will lower the tag axle when the transmission shifts into second gear. Assuming you ignored the light on the dash and the chime alarm.
I assume a drone supported rose petal distributing Liberty coach would do something similar…

How crude …..and no class with just a annoying buzzer to remind driver to drop tag.
One of the many options on Marathon is a program guide with a soft spoken female voice announcement as a reminder to drop your tag axle.
Currently available in several languages. I prefer the French version, thank you

Last time I checked both Liberty and Marathon were using Prevost chassis. You know, the part of the motor home that has the tag axle lift.
I suspect the sweet voice you hear is a French Canadian sending subliminal messages, not only to drop the tag, but to buy another coach.

Al … I didn’t catch all of that. The “soft spoken female voice” asks you to drop what?
