Tablet Mount for Silverleaf and Maybe Dash Cam
I know several coach owners use the Silverleaf engine monitoring
system. My plan was to use the Detroit diagnostic software just until I verified
all my gauges were working correctly. I admit it, I became addicted to all the
addition information available using the diagnostic software. I had a small laptop
placed on the dash just off to the right of the steering wheel. It was not in my
direct line of sight while driving and the gauge size was very small on the
Detroit software and not resizable. I purchased the Silverleaf interface and
made a mount that hangs my tablet in front of steering wheel, over my gauges so
it’s not an additional distraction. Fortunately the gauges it hides are read by
the Silverleaf program. I made the mount from a piece of 1/16 Plexiglas, I used 2”x4”s and
C-clamps to hold the Plexiglas and a heat gun to bent it. The pegs were left over
from another project. They are threaded internally and I used countersunk
screws from the rear to attach them. I think you should be able to find some
plastic round knobs from Lowes or HD that would work in place of what I used. I works really well. The Silverleaf doesn’t
show everything the Detroit software does but it covers most of the things I
want to watch. Here are some pictures, maybe you can see how I made the mount.
It positions the rear facing camera above the dash so it should work for a dash
cam. I haven’t tried that yet.
