T-Mobile Home Internet
Just signed up for the T Mobile Home Internet service. TOTALLY FREE HARDWARE with no obligation. $50/month for unlimited data. Cancel anytime and return router tower. Speeds here in Vegas are outstanding. We will have to see how things go once we get all of our devices connected. I will report on our results from time to time.
We travel full time but expect excellent results unless we are in the boonies.

I’ve had it at home for two years with no issues. Fantastic 5G speeds where I am. I didn’t know they would allow mobile use. I also have T-Mobile service through Calyx Institute. Unlimited, no data caps. Different device, but also works great.

I did not know it at the time, but TMobile is having a special promotion that allowed me to get the Home Internet service at no cost and no added obligation but it also included a $10/month fee discount so my unlimited service is only costing me $40/month.
Thus far, the service here in Vegas has been excellent!

Had the T-Mobile home internet and used on the road for a few months. It was phenomenal. Then I started seeing comments T-Mobile was enforcing the restrictions on use at the billing address only so I went with Calyx.
Calyx, for me, stinks.
Calyx Hotspot requires a restart at least once a day. It seems to go into a power save shutdown despite turning that feature off. Quite often wife’s Samsung S21 performs better than the Calyx Hotspot. Already returned once but no better. They refused to send a replacement until they received the defective item.

$135 Month to month with NO CONTRACT and unlimited high speed. That’s not expensive compared to other unlimited services.

T Mobile is also unlimited, costs $40/month, no contract and $0 upfront costs. Starlinks hardware adds another $600.

I have starlink v2 square dish mounted on my roof and it works great. It’s connected to a peplink router also with Verizon 4g lte-a both connected as dual wan. Peplink also allows campground wifi as wan. This all connects to 4 wifi APs 1 inside and 3 on the roof pointed different directions.
The problem i have is when parked at CGs there’s usually a tree in the way but usually the CG wifi or the Verizon is good.
Starlink is surprisingly amazing while driving. The dish rotates while driving which is cool. Their service is continuously getting better
Right now Starlink is growing faster than they can get satellites up and they’re going to have V2 online soon which will be even better. I have a feeling it’s going to continue to revolutionize the internet and even better once Amazon launches their satellite service. Amazon Aws runs like 56% of the worlds internet so could really be a game changer.
I’m betting soon we’ll be seeing starlink with 5g backup

The V2 antenna is certainly not designed for that type of use. It will be interesting to see how long it last while taking that kind of a beating going down the road. How did you mount it and where?
There is an in-motion version but I think it’s around $2000.

I wonder if the Starlink Dishy would fit inside a winegard or similar +dome for protection from the wind while in motion.

Currently moving a boat from Key Largo, FL to Prince Edward Island in Canada. During the trip up the coast there have been numerous boats big and small that have installed the wedged flat panel Starlink antenna (the $2,000 version). Everyone is raving about its performance both at the docks and underway. Although these antenna’s were intended for mobile use on land the boaters I have been talking to have had excellent experience with the Starlink at sea even in rough waters with salt water being sprayed on the antenna.
I am using the smaller Starlink mobile antenna on the boat I am delivering and it’s working flawlessly (even in 3-4 foot seas).

Hmm I use HomeFi because I found it was less expensive than Starlink. For the price I’m able to connect from my rural property and take it with my to travel in the RV anywhere I’ve been in the US. Thankfully it didn’t have the same upfront costs as Starlink either.
