    Surge protection ?

    I use a Progressive Industries EMS with remote, I have it hard wired in before the ATS box, It has been in there for around 8 years. When I installed it I thought put it before ATS transfer switch, I like the remote because when it’s plugged in I can see volts and amps inside bus, But it does not protect bus from generator, It that a Thing??? Do generators ever surge???.
