Reese, almost every entertainer coach is significantly simpler than a motor home conversion. They are not meant to live in, but to provide the means of travel between venues. So there are less complexity to the systems, and often some things we don’t have. Some have 5 roof air conditioners. Bay space is critical so an entertainer coach is going to have more available bay storage.

Generators are important so there may be two on board. Water and waste tanks might be smaller because the driver can fill or empty them often. The kitchen is going to be smaller with the intent to be where you serve cans of pop and potato chips, but don’t cook a lot of meals. The interior materials are going to be more intended to handle wear and tear, and as a result might be less decorative.

The key is the integrity of the systems and their design for reliability, and for you there has to be some consideration if the floor plan will work for you.

also as a note most entertainer coaches have 1 inverter, with no cord reel…House batteries are often in the front spare tire area…many times a wet cell…as Jon stated apartment size refers, no stove, microwave, some with two toilets and no shower….Just depends on set up..

That is clearly not set up like a typical entertainer coach, and is a motorhome floor plan. However as Jeff accurately points out you have a single inverter and the batteries are located behind the front bumper. That might require you to insure no water or spray from the road that could harm the inverter gets in there, and the limited amount of battery power is going to require more use of the generator. Use of the generator is not a bad thing, just something a lot of the motorhome owners usually avoid. Enetertainers have the generators going a lot, and in some cases all the time.

With OTR you won’t have to run it while driving.

I like the coach. It has a lot going for it.

The Owner of Superior Coach is a Great Guy ! A former Entertainer Driver who started His own Conversion Company. His Name is Nick , He went way out of His way one time to help Me get My old Amana Fridgerator working again in My Liberty. He Had someone come in and charge it up with Freon. He removed the Fridge himself for the Tech to gain access to the rear. It lasted for a couple of years after that. Of course He told Me that it was outdated and probably needed replaced. And the windshield had to come out to do it. But he would try to get My old one working . He spent quite a while with Me in My Coach , Just visiting and Reminissing about His old days as a Driver for some Huge Rock Star names. If I am ever around Nashville and need something done , Nick will be the one to do it. He is located in Lebanon , Tn. Quick Google will get ya His Info. Prevost of Goodlettsville gave Me His # since they did not want to fool with any Conversion issues.

And Wow ! That is a Great looking Coach that He built there ! I would venture to say that Coach was a Special order for a Big Name Client ?

Superior is located in Lebanon, TN, just east of Nashville. Owned by Nick Audino, a former band driver, and they’ve been in business for quite awhile catering to the music crowd. We had our previous coach serviced there, and b/4 we found Jeff, had them service our current bus a time or two. When we last had dealings with them they were friendly and seemed capable. At the time (2+ years ago) they had at least 2 new busses in process and one in queue for build out…but I understand they have had some personnel changes, so don’t know what the current status is.

The Staley rep called this afternoon and had answers to my questions. The Prevost chassis is from June 08 and the coach was titled in 09. This was a custom built motorhome conversion and not a entertainer/star bus. It has five roof air conditioners, 50 amp cord, Webasto, 2 possibly 3 inverters, transmission retarder, house batteries are behind the front bumper. They could not tell me the age of the tires or batteries. Staley posted more pictures of this coach on Friday afternoon. Staley did not have the build sheet.

I appreciate the responses and information regarding Superior Conversions.

My inverters and batts are behind the front bumper. The space is vented via a screened cut out in the floor located directly between the two inverters. That area stays clean and dry.

I would not expect to have problems based on the location.

The coach being a year older is very common as the converters order a coach then take several months converting it. It is then registered the year of completion. Tires and batteries can be a large expense, so that gives you a place to negotiate. The tire dates can easily be determined by the date stamps and the Rep should know that. Ask on the this Forum for a member or two to go check it out for you. The infamous Jon lives near Knoxville and he might be willing to grab another local owner and go over to Nashville, but he may charge you an adult beverage or two. Most members of this group are willing to look one over. Also ask the Staley Rep if it can be inspected by Prevost as Prevost is close to Staley. The Pre Delivery Inspection by Prevost will cost you a little, but is good ‘peace of mind’ insurance on the condition of coach mechanical items.
