  • summer kick-off

Deb and I purchased our bus in February and have been out a
few times to enjoy short drives, a few RV resorts and parks and dry camping.
Late last week we loaded up the bus with groceries, our two designer rescue
dogs, Mailey and Franklyn and headed out on our 5-month trip – as we still
work, Deb and I will commute a few times to and from wherever the bus is and where
    we need to be.

We left Las Vegas northbound to Reno, west to Redding where
we joined 299 west to Eureka, CA then turned north on 101 where we eventually
found Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort in Newport, Oregon.

Wow – space 140 is incredible. To date our favorite spot was
in Indio, CA, but with the wildly different climate and scenery, this place is
every bit as impressive and amazing. It’s epic views, beach access, dog parks
and lots of space make this a must stop if you find yourself on the Oregon
    coast.

Today we will tear ourselves away from this place and head
to Salem to visit family. Then it’s off to Marathon for a visit and few tweaks
of service. We hope this won’t take much more than a week.

Although we have seen a lot of rain, high winds,
construction, and incredibly winding and tight roads, we have had a wonderful start
to our summer and new life living with our Prevost.

Deb and I hope you had a fantastic summer kick-off too.

Sounds like a great trip. The summer of 2010 we did 7 months on the road and enjoyed evry minute of it. We also still work a minuim of 40 hours a week. As long as we had cell service we could work. Most of our co-workers had no idea we were not at home. Make the most of your time off and weekends. I think you will find that working on the road is not a perfect way to travel and see the sights, but sure beats staying at home. But it is the next best thing to being retired!
