Tom, I noticed on the question on the bay door struts when you responded with a link to a source for the struts it didn’t open another window. I think it should. That way the original question, part #, etc. is still available in original window so you can toggle back and forth rather than using the back button and forward button. I hope I explained this well enough.

Elliot, I never thought about that probably because I am not real smart on computers. I have noticed that on other sites and when the site is gone when I click on the link such as was the case with Tom’s link I just toggle back and forth.
I just learned something. Now we need to add that to our list of things to get the guru to consider changing.

Not sure I follow you guys, if I click on the Strut link and view the page, I just hit the back arrow and I’m back to the original.

Elliot wants a new window to open when he clicks on a link. That way he can scroll thru as many pages in the link as he wants, and with a key stroke he is back on the post. The way it works now is that if he wants to click on a link and then page through that link, in order to get back to the original post on the web site he has to click return as many times as pages he viewed on the link.
Remember, this explanation is coming from the computer challenged, and if I have it right it proves you can teach an old dog.
Greg, Truk doesn’t have a Mac. They are beyond his budget.

Instead of just clicking on the link if you will right click on it you can choose to “open in new tab” and it will open in a new page the way you like it to.
Just a thought and as easy as a left click.

Can a button be added or can it be made automatic to direct the viewer to the first new post of a thread.
Some of the threads are now several pages long and the viewer must always start at page one and try to remember what page was the last read, 3, 4, 5? and the post dates.
When one goes to a thread and sees 1 of 5 posts it is not known what page to first view. If you chooze pg 5 and note that you have not read the first shown post, you must check page 4 to be sure you have not missed anything.
If this capability is already avaliable, please show/tell me how to set it up and use it.

Tom and I are making a list of things we need to tweak (that’s a technical term).
We are aware of most of the suggestions that have been made because like you, we are forum users also and some of the things such as you suggest are really valid. We are on the forum many times a day and stuff like you described has to be fixed.
