Suds in water bay after washer runs
Okay, let me try this, again…yesterday’s post disappeared, and Tom told me to repost it under Chassis. If anyone answered, yesterday, I did not see your reply.
When my 2002 Liberty XLII washing machine drains, I’m getting water/suds in the water bay. I found a 1/4″ air line connection (see picture 1) coming from the drain line, and the open line (picture 2) ends near the water tank. I assume this is some sort of vent, and, if so, I’m wondering if it’s routed properly. Currently, the line is at, or below, the exit point from the drain line for its entire length. As you can see, there is a tag marked “C” near the end, so that makes me feel as though this is original to Liberty. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on this?

Could it have been from a water softener? Some water softeners would use a 1/4″ air line as the drain line and these were often connected to a drain line into the grey tank as opposed to draining it onto the ground.
EDIT: or maybe a reverse osmosis filter

Hmmm…never considered that it was a drain from another source, but that would make sense. In that case, I suppose that I can just plug it?
