Stink Control stuff…
Some say putting stuff in the holding tanks will stop the stink 100%. Some say it helps. Some say if you use the correct stuff your neighbors will not smell anything when you dump your tank. What do you pro’s do. One person says they use Urea fertilizer which is nitrogen and he says you will smell nothing and it is a cheap product..
Do you all use something other than lots and lots of water??

I use nothing but water, but the bus never sets more than 30 days in between use.

I’m a little surprised with the OP. They have a Liberty, which of course don’t smell. Its SOBs that smell, if not sooner then later. Maybe the OP is “worried” about his coach smelling down the road. Since they might a good choice and bought a Liberty, smelling is something they won’t have to worry about.

Yeah, I have been looking for those rose petals to come out when I trip my dump valve……. Maybe “vintage” Libertys didn’t have the rose petal option…

If your “P” traps are full of water and if you have air admittance valves and they are functioning properly, it doesn’t matter what the inside of your holding tank smells like because you will never get odors inside the coach.
If you are getting odors the problem is with the vent system on the waste side of the plumbing. No matter how much you spend to buy rose petals or any other perfume for the holding tank, it is still going to stink. Fix the vents and the problem will no longer exist.
Don’t forget the traps never considered like the one for the washer or dish washer.

I always drop a couple of the blue packets in between dumpings. No odor issue inside the coach but when dumping the tank in a cramped campground on a hot and humid day it does cut down on the odors. I have done it with and without and there is definitely a differnece. With kids, friends and family always around the tanks get over-used anyway.
Think of an outhouse at a summer music festival, they always use odor fighting compounds.

My SOB coach has a less elegant plumbing system than you all. I only use water and have no smell inside the RV.
I live in mine and dump it once per week.

Smart Enertainer Coach guy told me a few years back he only used a few squirts of Dish soap in his. Said as you drive it would clean the inside. Don’t know if it helps. I use a blue packet and a squirt or two of apple dish soap in mine. No stinkey but I have 3″ plugs clean outs on my grey and black tanks Easy access and wash mine out every time I dump with water pressure on squirter. Look inside from plugs and they always look clean. Of course I tell my wife, mine don’t stink. Her’s, not so much!
