  • STILL having UU Code

Posted by Joe on September 19, 2022 at 9:27 am

Started having issues with Generator, good ole Yanmar, UU Code would pop up every time i started it. Read the GOOD info on these threads, replaced Fuel Pump, Both Fuel Filters and Air Filter. It did fire right up after the fuel pump change but then followed with Still UU Code. Dis-connected the battery to hopefully reset but still nothing. Is there a way to re-set Generator Watchdog? i did press the little red reset button… After many (4 to 5) manual starts I can get it cranked and it will run till i stop it, BUT sure would love to get it back to normal! Any one know the real trick to make UU codes go away???

Really appreciate any advice …. Joe

Sounds like an air leak in the fuel line from the tank to the generator. Try running the generator from a bucket with a line from the pump to the bucket. If the issue goes away then find the leak in the fuel line in the coach.

Thanks Mikee, I probably didn’t make my description too clear, i can actually start the Gen in manual mode (After about 4 or 5 attempts) and it will run for as long as i want it to. Last weekend while tailgating, actually ran it over 40 hours, so I don’t think its a fuel issue. It’s getting fuel, i know that for sure as i disconnected the line to the injectors and that sucker sprayed all over ME!

My gut feeling is it’s something that needs to reset to clear the UU code, I’m no GEN expert by no means, but something is just hanging it up, i mean to run for 40 hours with NO issues, it’s just getting it started… CRAZY

BUT, definitely appreciate any advice ….

What is the UU code for, low voltage, low rpm, etc, etc, ?

This might help in determining the issue

According to manual, UU code – Undervoltage Shutdown – Shutdown occurs if the voltage falls below 80% of the voltage regulator setpoint for more than 10 seconds.

Manual Says Check – Reduce load and restart

Of course i have flipped breaker off and tried, still UU code. Again when i do finally get it cranked and running i flip breaker back on. Runs fine. It’s all about getting it going. Plus, when it does throw th UU code it only fires for like a second or so, then stops and gives UU code.

Got a call into Kohler to see if they can help… Will see

I did see in manual where moving switch to OFF will reset controller, so code is being reset. Something is still not right in making controller throw that code intermittingly..

Joe; wish you luck on elect gremlins! my basic check point is all grounds are suspect. loose or corroded. = give low voltage or intermittent connection.
