Might anyone have a photo of the battery that is upon the Allen Bradley board? Instructions on how to safely shutdown the Allen Bradley in order to replace it?

There are several series of the SLC 5/500 PLC. The earlier one have the battery behind the door. The newer series require that the board to be pulled out of the tray to replace it. It’s snapped in place on the circuit board. A capacitor should hold the program for several minute while you change the battery. Just be aware that if the program is lost, it will require a PLC tech with the Allen Bradley software and a copy of the program to access the PLC to reload it. The converter should have a file that can be emailed to you. The safe way to do it is have the tech plug in and copy the program and then change the battery. This is only required if you have the internal battery. The power to the PLC has to be turned off before you pull the board. I only know about this from my work place. We have several machines that used the older PLC’s.

There are youtube videos about this.

    Your welcome.

Hoping to be a Prevost owner within a year. This market crunch is delaying things a couple months.
