  • Stbd & Port lights

Are the exterior Stbd & Port light bulbs on the Liberty readily available at automotive stores.. they are totally different looking to the ones in our Vantare but the fixtures look exactly the same on the outside?

I haven’t ever seen a bulb that looks like those do?

I am trying to run out of questions but afraid it’s just beginning !!

    Thanks, Diane

Tom bought LEDs for his Liberty from http://www.autolumination but his were 12 volt. I think yours are 24 volt.

    Diane,

They’re Festoon type bulbs with the little wire clip, how many do you want, I’ll send them to ya….

Also available in LED at…. wwwsuperbrightleds.com just log in festoon for styles

If you ask how that name got attached …. No clue ? That’s how I remember that style. NAPA customers would bring that bulb in asking if we had anything like this ?

Yes, we have festoon bulbs, how many would you like ?

The look on their face was is he telling me a joke ?

I think they were designed for applications where they could not come loose in the mount…thus the wire

    Al and Tom….

so are you saying just put in LED bulb replacement… no changing in the fixture itself right? Which ones exactly would you use for my application? Not sure if 12V or 24V either.. guess I need to check… maybe Tom knows.?

This is a new experience altogether for me!!

    Thanks Diane

Diane, just put your handy dandy hand held electric tester on the wires, set tester to DC.

Or have Larry hold onto the wires, you throw the switch ….. tickle equals 12 volt…..Larry, thrown against the garage wall equals 24 volt.

Hey Peter where did you get those.

I have LED’s in my patio lights, 12 of them but they are the fixed loop feston bulbs and aren’t very brite.

I got all mine at Superbright LED .com

    Diane………..NO!

He is playing with you. 12 or 24 volt DC cannot be measured with a tickle. Use the meter. They may actually be 12 but if not you will toast some expensive bulbs.

    Jon…

I put the meter to the fixture and read 12.4 or 12. something so they must be 12 Volt !!

    Thanks Jon
