I don’t know how similar our coaches are, but I don’t think any of the Detroit Diesels have glow plugs. I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong. On my dash (which appears to have been modified by the converter), there is a spring loaded momentary toggle to the right of the keyed master switch. I’ll include a photo below. I have a rear start switch, as well as an engine control switch. That one needs to be in the correct position to start from the front or the back. It’s a 3-position ON-OFF-ON toggle switch. I actually just replaced mine last week (long story, extraordinarily happy ending). The switches are on the right side of the rear electrical junction box, which sits above the engine. I’ll attach that photo, too. If it won’t start from the front, make sure that control switch is set to “normal” which is down on mine. The start switch is a push button below the control switch. I can give you a call today if you have more questions. Just let me know. Are you going to keep your new bus?
